2015 marks the return of the adidas Superstar and adidas Australia approached us to work with them in re-launching this Icon to the Australian market.
As part of this campaign, we were tasked with creating a relevant look book for key retail partner Foot Locker that would reflect the credibility of both the legendary sneaker and the global retail chain.
To achieve this, we chose to partner with multi-talented music producer, image-maker and creative, Ta-Ku, in a unique shoot that featured this enigmatic character from multiple angles. In Australia, Ta-Ku represents a localized and relatable Superstar, relevant to adidas & Foot Locker Australia audiences.
Two photographers were chosen to interpret Ta-Ku in his Superstars; and leveraging Ta-Ku’s own love for photography, Ta-Ku himself captured a series of POV images.
Renowned Australian fashion and portrait photographer Jedd Cooney shot a day in the life of Ta-Ku following him around on his usual routine.
And well-known creative from Sydney, and friend of Ta-Ku, Anthony Berlangieri offered a behind-the-scenes angle as they roamed around Sydney capturing some amazing locations.
The look book will be shared in stores and online.
