In 2014 Grant’s Whisky South Africa approached us to curate and manage a touring exhibition that they were working on in collaboration with I See A Different You (ISADY). The concept for the exhibition fell under the brand’s campaign ‘Stand Together’, which was a celebration of success being something achieved among friends with shared values and ambitions.
Working with this concept of shared success, the trio of photographers from ISADY (Justice & Innocent Mukheli and Vuyo Mpantsha) travelled across the country to take portraits of young collaborators and achievers all creating work in their own way to contribute to the fabric of the nation’s culture.
We held three launches for the exhibition entitled ‘Stand Together Mzansi’ across South Africa’s three main hubs.
Spin Street Gallery in Cape Town
Open Studios in Durban
Bullion in Johannesburg.
With specialised Grant’s Whisky cocktails served at each venue, the show travelled over 7 weeks and was welcomed into each city’s respective scenes with open arms and was holistically documented through the sentiment of #standtogethermzansi on social media.
Take a look at some images from the Johannesburg launch below.
